Old bullion and the 18th century

The eighteenth century may be considered in many aspects. The time of great wars across the globe, time of some political and administrative changes, for example the fact of moving the Russian capital from Moscow to Petersburg. There were also some expeditions to Greenland organized at that time. In literature, this was the time of great changes and strongly motif-based art. The role of images was very important and reflected the artist personal point of view towards the presented issue. A lot of controversies touched the matter of finances though. In the United States, apart from many other interesting dates, the famous Old bullion started to appear on wider scale. The scope of activities of the institution was limited to finances. Everything that was connected with issuing paper notes, not coins, was somehow in the area of interest of the named institution. The Old Bullion was a legislator that was known for being in the opposition as far as the question of use of paper currency is concerned. For more than a hundred years, the Old Bullion tried to enforce its point of view with different results. Another important and interesting facts from the century are for example the peak of the Little Ice Age or conquering of Iraq by Afghans. Spanish missionaries managed to establish some colonies in California, too.
